John Dyck is CEO of CESMII – The Smart Manufacturing Institute, a Manufacturing USA Institute focused on strengthening U.S. manufacturing competitiveness and economic security through Smart Manufacturing.

Since joining CESMII in 2018, John has helped shape a national strategy focused on reducing the cost and complexity of manufacturing digital transformation and establishing the open, interoperable foundations required to scale innovation and Industrial AI.

John is recognized globally as a leader in Smart Manufacturing and manufacturing digital transformation, working at the intersection of business strategy, manufacturing operations, technology architecture, and innovation. He is a named inventor on multiple patents applying AI and advanced analytics to manufacturing workflows and business processes and was recognized by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) as one of its “30 Leaders Transforming Manufacturing in the USA.”

Prior to CESMII, John held senior leadership positions at GE and Rockwell Automation and helped build Activplant, a venture-backed manufacturing software company.

John currently serves on the Boards of Directors of the Manufacturing Leadership Council (MLC) and the Cyber Manufacturing Innovation Institute (CyManII).
